You might be one of those people that are experiencing a slow internet connection while using your Windows 10 computer. Fear no more though. There are a few tips and tricks that you can go though to boost your connection.
Choose how updates are delivered
There is a setting in Windows 10 that controls how you receive new Windows updates. That is instead of getting them straight from Microsoft you can also receive them from other computers on your LAN or other PCs on the internet. It is like a peer-to-peer network that is put in use for receiving your updates.
Likewise, your computer will also send parts of an update to another user on your LAN or on the internet.
Of course, this means that your computer will consume bandwidth while it is part of the update peer-to-peer network, affecting your available bandwidth for your own tasks.
So, why not turn off this functionality? You can do so by following the instructions bellow.
- Click on the Start button.
- Click on Settings.
- Select and click Update & security.
- In the next screen click on Advanced options.
- Then click on Choose how updates are delivered.
- In the next screen there are three options. Turn off the first one. That’s it.
More tips & tricks will follow. Stay tuned.
