There are a lot of media centers out there but we always try to single out the best ones and OSMC is one of them.
Open Source Media Center or OSMC is an open source free media center that is based on the Linux operating system. The existence of the media centers goes back to 2014 so it has been around for a while and has matured since then.
Of course you don’t have to be a Linux guru to use this media center. This is taken care of by the fine user interface of the system , letting you do whatever you want with the media center from installation to very specific functionality. Still, if you are a Linux expert and you want to play around with the details you do have access to the full Debian repositories.
The media center can be installed on a number of devices such as Raspberry Pi, Apple TV and Vero which is OSMC’s very own branded device.
Once installed you will have access to a lot of apps from the store of OSMC, such as a browser or a TV tuner. What’s more important though is the access you will have to regular operating system updates, making sure the media center is functioning at its best.
If you take your TV seriously then you should give this awesome media center a go and you will not be disappointed.
